Short Term Gains Or In It For Long Term Benefit?

Something New … Can you handle it?

I’m at home today (snow falling so the golf match has been cancelled … course closed) watching my youngest son Toby.

He is n’t afraid of trying some thing new, in fact, he is learning to crawl across the floor to discover new toys to play with … some of which have been left out from last night.  Luke is not going to be impressed when he gets up to find his little brother has been rearranging his shopping trolley or playing with his toy keyboard LOL

But I find this fascinating, a baby of just 7 months old is striving to learn, determined to spend everything waking moment to achieve something new.

When do we lose this drive? Do we simply except that this is as good as it gets and give up?

Getting Started On Building Your Successful Online Business

Getting started with something new can always be a daunting task, let’s face it nobody really likes change in their life. It is probably because most times in our lives change means something has gone wrong … a relationship split up, a downturn in business causing redundancy, an injury. You get the picture, however if you focus on the positive life changing events instead you will have a different outlook and making life changes yourself will be far easier.

I know I have had all of the above in the past and was quite apprehensive about starting my own business, but that was three years ago and I am glad I did. The decision to become a stay at home dad was equally scarey but has also been very gratifying too!

So if I did it all again what 3 Key points do I think are paramount in building a successful online business?

1 Building a successful online business is determined upon you having your brand and foundations in place … find a niche you are going to enjoy working in build an authority site within that niche using your personality to promote it.

2 Be honest in all that you do … I looked around for ages before I started out and all I saw were “Fake it til you make it” promoters … I wanted to break the mould and build my successful online business on Honesty, Integrity and Trust through my stay at home dad branding.

3 Find others like you … people that share similar values and ethos and work as a team to help each other to grow. Reciprocation is key here, how many people d oyou know that will join a team members affiliate link to spread the wealth?

So in summary if you want to get started in making money online through your own successful online business then take some action today and follow these three pointers as my team are proof that these work and can for you too!

Ibotoolbox the FREE Social Platform For Internet Marketers

I work from home, running my home based business and the wife is always on at me, the kids are so needy, my team always interfere with my daily routine and so I get nothing done!

Er not me, but I also maintain the top paragraph is a phoney … I do run my successful online business from home but those distractions are man made … I made them!

They are not distractions in my book nor should they be ignored or simply swept under the carpet … if we had any carpet on the floors downstairs LOL

NO they are the reason I do what I do today, yesterday, and into tomorrow and beyond … I married my wife and I was involved in the conseption of my two lovely sons, luke and Toby … so as much as I can I embrace their distractions.

Most of my team know first hand that Luke loves nothing more than to run around the laminate flooring with a truck or some other toy … just as I am speaking on skype to them.   He always use to scream everytime my good friend Jon would phone me.  He was and still is pretty good in the background of most of my videos.

He is part of my family and hence part of my business and is why I chose this freedom lifestyle we now benefit from.

So please think about those around you that tell you to focus and shut out all the distractions around you, you may one day wake up and they have left you without a warning (well one you could hear).   No my wife isn’t running away, but all too often you find this happen and then you become wealthy and unhappy … money only helps the world go around it won’t make you happy!

So enjoy some of those so called distractions as they are the reason we do what we do!

“What scares You?

Let me start … going to the dentist, which is why I m writing this today (because the whole family are off to the dentist), snakes and the horrible child catcher (Out of chitty, chitty bang bang!)

As an adult those frightening experiences of a child still remain, but generally they have dulled in their tension and anxiety.

The dentist fear cme from having a very bad experience as a child and then having all four wisdom teeth extracted … leaving me with a dislocated jaw for 6 months (waiting to get it corrected)

The snakes again was from childhood, going into the reptile house of Colchester Zoo and just seeing a mass of bodies and eyes (shivering now just remembering)

The child catcher in the film … self explanatory really!

In adulthood I was always helping other people grow their own businesses, whether it was a start up or multinational company.  I have been made redundant and that is like the rug has been pulled from under you!

So running my own successful business was something I wanted to do but somehow could never find the courage to do.

Well now I have and I am glad I did … so what are you scared off and what is stopping you from doing something new?  Is it a childhood fear that is lingering?  Is it time to man up and make that life changing plunge?

Is Your High Street Full Of Empty Shops? ~ Who is Next To Go Into Administration?

Into Administration … seems to be the latest buzz word on the High Street.

Just in the last week some top name brands have gone into administration … but Why?

Is it purely down to the economic crisis or have these companies gone into administration simply because they wouldn’t move with the times?

I remember where I used to buy my record singles years ago … the first one was Coward of The County by Kenny Rogers … what was the first record you ever bought?

That shop is now long gone and in my opinion was an icon in the High Streets all over the UK.  Now we see other high street stores going into administration that are in that similar industry (of that one Department) of music, videos and games.

My question to you is how did they survive this long?  What with mobile downloads of the latest chart music and indeed golden oldies available online; technology to beam the latest films straight to your tv or laptop; and the endless online shops to buy your games and indeed even your digital cameras.

My take on the demise of these High Street shops that have gone into administration is this … Hats off to them for lasting as long as they have on our High Streets.

Did they have all their eggs in one basket?

Yes it is a very sad day to see so many favourite names disappear, but how many times can they re-invent themselves.

Could they have made it online to boost their own sales?  Who knows, perhaps we never will.

However, there is always hope for our High Streets … if I walk around my local town today, I will see the latest shop ready to be emptied out as it is one of those companies gone into administration.

But I will also see the latest shop opened by a local venture … a wedding boutique; where you can organise all the things for your special day in one place.  The shop is full of information of local businesses that supply goods and services from the industry. Local photographers, Cake bakers, stationary, fascinators and all sorts.

There is also a new shop selling products sourced from abroad, a new wedding venue, a new cafe, a new pizza delivery and a baby accessories shop too.

The local High Street in your town maybe changing too, take a look and see how many new ventures are being opened by local businesses.  Is this time for a change? Perhaps YES! Are we going back to the days where local businesses serve their local communities?

Of course the product and service has to be chosen well, but I do see a change a happening.

Scared of Companies Going Into Administration?

Are you someone that wants to start their own business? But because of the economic crisis and businesses going into administration on a weekly basis … does it put you off?

For most of my life I would’ve stood up and be counted in that same category, but now I am a changed man LOL!  Starting up my own business was and still is the best decision I ever made. I am lucky enough to have worked for a lot of diverse companies in my career; some of which were start ups and others established multi nationals.  I can safely say I have learnt from their mistakes (not to say I don’t make my own LOL).

Running your own business means this to me … I have control of my family’s destiny.  I am not going to lose my job because the company I work for goes into administration.  If I lose my job it is purely because I was too rash, I got it wrong … no one else will be to blame!

P.S.  To summarise companies going into administration, banks paying ridiculously low interest and the economy still on free fall … what are YOU going to do next?

I know loads of people online today that have great eye catching websites.  They really do catch the eye everytime they (the website owner) looks at them.

Now this is a problem of concern, you see they simply don’t have the knowledge to hand to drive traffic to their site.  So unfortunately their flashy website fails to make them any money.  The fact is that it could make them a considerable fortune if they could only just attract traffic to it.

Now long term … driving traffic to your site through writing considerable amounts of SEO’d (is that really a word?) content for your website will in fact get you the traffic you need.  stay at home dad

Ranking On Page One Of Google – Googles Changes Are GREAT Not A Problem

Ranking On Page One of Google Is NOW Harder? Possibly, Or Possibly NOT!

Well it is if you are one of those that love to find ways to buck the system. Too many people even established internet marketers are using the loopholes left by Google and will be caught out eventually.

Ranking on page one of google will be no different for me and my team as we don’t try and find new ways to buck the Google system.

Lots of people in the internet marketing world are running for cover as they realise that their short term SEO fixes are going to well and truly back fire upon them.

Ranking on page one of google has in my opinion never been an easy task and nor should it, although saying that I still believe that if SEO ranking is carried out correctly then Google will NEVER SLAP you as the scaremongerers have led us to believe.

These people spend their days swanning around whilst they allow cheap and nasty programs to create numerous spammy free backlinks to their numerous websites … that have little or no ranking , little or no relevance to their core content of their website and hence don’t  deserve to be ranking on page one of google.  The disavow tool has been developed to rid us of these menaces.

No wonder Google have improved their SEO ranking on page one of google systems.

EMD’s Or Exact Match Domains WILL always be a great method to help you get ranking on page one of google.  Why? because of the format of Googles ranking and search engine systems.   You see if you get an Exact Match Domain and fill it with relevant, informative and rich content, you are abiding by the original Google rules of engagement.

However, build a one page website full of just the longtail keyword (almost spamming the page) then I’m sorry but your website deserves to be downgraded or “Google Slapped”

And as for the fight between Panda and Penguin updates, please don’t get me started.

Don’t get me wrong we all (as I am an internet marketer) need help to get our sites ranking on page one of google as this is where the optimim searchers and traffic are for our chosen keywords, but we need to work ore wisely in the future and stick to the rules laid out by the search engines.

There is no apocalypse and so there is no end to the SEO ranking system, it isn’t Google flexing their muscles … it is purely google plugging the loopholes to prevent the lazy (some may say ingenious) marketers from bucking the system.

Put out rules for a competition and there will always be those that try and bend them, manipulate them or even disregard them totally.

I remember seeing Tiger woods in a competition where his ball lay behind a great big stone boulder in a sandy lie. Did he manipulate the rules by asking the crowd to help him move the bounder from his line of sight ( who else on the tour would have commanded that sort of audience to help them do the same?)  If I was in that position I would have to have played out to the side and not as tiger did … put his next shot onto the green.

Whatever safeguards Google put in place there will always be those that look for the next loophole to exploit with their quests to get their website ranking on page one of google.

However, would their efforts be better spent by playing the game by the rules everyone else plays by when it comes to seo ranking?

Having multiple revenue streams in your portfolio is the next step for you after you have accomplished the art of attraction marketing, attracting people to your sites, networking, allowing people to buy from you or whatever else you want to call it.

You will have built up a level of confidence in your internet marketing ability and will have investigated and tested your multiple revenue streams for you business portfolio.  Now it is time to promote those multiple revenue streams through honest and truthful means.

You may start small and, trying out new endeavours before ramping them up to provide you with a small or even a quite substantial residual income.  You may have set yourself some realistic goals and have started to achieve them on a regular basis.

What Products To Put In Your Multiple Revenue Streams Portfolio, High Ticket?

But what next?  Do you just sit there and say that’s it I am happy with my lot (which I have to say is your own decision and you should not let anyone pressurise you into anything).

However, if you are now setting your goals of achievemnet higher … what is stopping you reaching them? Do you have the right mix of products in your multiple revenue streams strategy? Or are you missing a key ingredient?

Are you concerned that it will be more difficult to attract people to a high ticket product, than it is to a small entry level product, membership or system?

Well then perhaps the way around this is to find one that is multi level entry, with the ability to upgrade later.  That would help resolve this issue somewhat, although I must say with your new found confidence and marketing ability you should NOT be worrying as the marketing principles are so similar you will be amazed at the levels of success you can achieve here as well.

With the demise of the likes of Zeek and others to fall by the wayside in months to come probably.

Don’t get me wrong but I still think there is a place in your portfolio for MLM’s and other systems/ programs, as without them it would be far more difficult to build a multiple revenue stream business.

I just believe that the majority just have it ALL wrong when they throw loads of cash into a system and then complain bitterlly when it folds, (for whatever reason) … instead as I have said it before and will say it again you need to work a whole lot wiser.
